As a medical doctor turned nursing professional, I bring a unique perspective and diverse skill set to healthcare. My journey from practicing medicine to pursuing nursing in Canada has equipped me with a deep understanding of patient care, an empathetic approach to diverse patient populations, and resilience in adapting to new challenges. I am passionate about positively impacting patients' lives and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment. With experience in leadership, community engagement, and hands-on clinical roles, I aim to deliver comprehensive, culturally sensitive care to meet the needs of the communities I serve.

What I Can Offer

I offer a blend of medical knowledge, nursing skills, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care in my role. My background as a medical doctor allows me to approach patient care with a holistic perspective, understanding not only the clinical aspects but also my patients' emotional and psychological needs. This dual expertise enables me to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery. Additionally, my experience as a community leader—whether organizing running clubs or educational sessions on chronic disease—has strengthened my communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. I am dedicated to making a difference by fostering a collaborative environment where patients feel valued and supported.

My Greatest Strength

My greatest strength lies in my adaptability and dedication to empathy-driven care. Transitioning from being a family doctor in Iran to a nursing role in Canada has required me to learn, grow, and adjust quickly. This journey has developed my resilience and adaptability, allowing me to thrive in diverse healthcare settings. More importantly, this experience has deepened my empathy and commitment to understanding patients' unique experiences and backgrounds. I use this empathy daily, especially when working with immigrants and individuals from culturally diverse communities. My strength in connecting with patients on a personal level enables me to deliver not only high-quality medical care but also emotional support, which I believe is essential for comprehensive healing.

My Professional Goals

My long-term professional goal is to either become a nurse practitioner or return to the field of medicine, with the vision of opening my clinic. I aspire to create a healthcare environment prioritizing accessible, culturally competent care for diverse populations, mainly immigrant communities. I am passionate about addressing the unique health challenges faced by these groups and ensuring they have access to respectful and effective healthcare services. In the immediate future, I am focused on enhancing my evidence-based practice and leadership skills, particularly in the neurology unit where I currently work. Over the next 10 weeks, I aim to strengthen my expertise in patient care, improve my teamwork abilities, and refine my leadership skills. By actively participating in case discussions, receiving feedback from my preceptor, and consistently seeking ways to improve, I am dedicated to building a solid foundation to serve me well in my long-term career aspirations.

In conclusion, my experiences and aspirations reflect a commitment to compassionate, patient-centred healthcare. I bring a unique blend of medical and nursing skills, resilience, and a deep understanding of the needs of diverse patient populations. As I continue to build my expertise, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute positively to the healthcare field and work towards my vision of inclusive and accessible healthcare for all.
